SCRUTINIZING THE QUR'AN

Part Four

Pan-Grecian Conceit
(continued)

In their desperation (because conditions were very bad in Europe), the Europeans saw the western continents (North and South America) as an opportunity – an opportunity for wealth and an opportunity to dump their excess population (especially the poorest, and the criminals and the insane).  Starting in 1415 (when the Portuguese crossed over the Straits of Gibraltar and captured the peninsula called “Ceuta” on the north coast of Africa), the Europeans went out and conquered the entire world.  Then they rewrote history.  They wrote the ancient Arabs (Phoenicians) and Africans (Egyptians) out of Greek history.  They wrote the Muslims (every Old World nation except the East Asians) and the Chinese out of medieval history.  And they have written every modern nation out of history except as part of the world order that the Europeans have established.

(Is this the first time in history that African nations have been “independent”?  Absolutely not.  Futa Toro, Futa Jallon, the Bondou, Songhai, Mali, the Hausa city-states, Kanem-Bornu, the empire of the Lunda-Luba, the original Kongo kingdom, the Baganda kingdom, the empire of the Monomotapas, the empire of the Changamires, the Swahili states, the Yoruba states, the empire of al-Hajj Umar – these are just a few of the independent nations of Africa prior to the European conquest of 1885-1900.)

They have taken to calling themselves “white people” and have invented a pseudo-scientific concept of race.  They have given the world an image of a European man, saying this is your Lord, the Son of God, God in the flesh; now, over two billion people around the world are bowing to a picture of a European as their God, their Lord and Savior.
One scholar is quoted in the Atlantic Monthly article as saying that she does not want to undermine anyone’s faith.  Apparently she and her colleagues just want to demonstrate that what people believe is not true, and leave them free to go on believing it!  They have accepted Freud’s dictum that religion is an illusion.

I would like to suggest that the same effort be put forth in an open and continuing public forum as is put forth in private, so that – among other things – ordinary Christian men and women can hear what their Christian scholars are saying about the Bible.  I would like to suggest that the scholars and scientists who disregard or debunk the Qur’an put an effort into finding out if the Qur’an is a message from the Creator similar to the effort they put into trying to contact or hear from extra-terrestrial beings when we have no evidence that such beings even exist!  Many scholars and scientists say that the Creator does not exist.  Do they prefer to believe that something (everything that exists) can come out of nothing?  Let them prove it!
