ELEGY (1974)
	Elegy is a five-minute work for orchestra, composed in memory of Mark Fax, who was Acting Director of the School of Music at Howard University in 1973 when I was hired by him to teach there.  He passed away on January 2, 1974.  This recording is my attempt to reproduce the orchestral sound of this piece using my limited abilities and my limited software.  Not only does it not reproduce the wonderful sound of a live orchestral performance, but it does not do many things that a synthesized performance is capable of.  But it does give you, the listener, at least some idea of what the piece sounds like.  It is not always true, but in this case I think little is better than nothing.  Just give it a chance.  Thank you for listening.  This recording was made on August 14, 2006.
