Food for thought: #1. 234 Days Between his inauguration on January 20, 2001, and the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, George Bush was President of the United States for 234 days. Was he protecting the nation he had sworn to serve? Apparently not. So, what was he doing? Two hundred and thirty-four days! What was he doing? #2. The United States has become the Evil Empire Around the world, people fear the knock on the door, hundreds are detained indefinitely without trial, dozens are kidnapped and flown thousands of miles away from their homes, and many disappear into whereabouts unknown. Prisoners are tortured and confessions are forced. The government spies on its own people, saying it is for their own good. The government rejects international law and ignores domestic law. We suffer hard times, but the government says the economy is going well. The war is going badly, but the government says the war is being won. Yesterday’s friend (Osama) is today’s enemy and yesterday’s enemy (China) is today’s friend, because the government says so. And the government wants to establish democracy everywhere – so it says – even while it works to destroy democracy in Venezuela and Bolivia. We drown in propaganda. #3. The Path to Impeachment it’s not about odds it’s about necessity it’s not about if it’s about how it’s not about Congress it’s not about the media it’s about WE THE PEOPLE and it’s about NOW #4. The Wolf in Conservative Clothing. Could it be Cheney? Could it be Rumsfeld? Or (pardon me) could it be Wolfowitz? The need to impeach is not about Democrats versus Republicans. Nor is it about liberals versus conservatives, or left versus right. It is about preserving liberty for all of us. #5. King George the Third This nation won its freedom from King George the Third of England more than two centuries ago. We now have another George the Third on our hands.
